|If you have a sweet tooth, then you have come to the
right place. This is the website dedicated to all things candy. Candy is a big business worldwide, it's also a favorite snack for many
of us, especially children. There are aisles and aisles full of candy at
most supermarkets. Candy is sold in convenience stores and at gas
stations. Who doesn't like to enjoy their favorite movie without a box
A favorite snack for the daily commuter is candy, you can enjoy it in the car, bus or subway train on the way to or from work. You can snack on it at your desk, or while walking on the beach.
Candy is colorful, exciting and fun. Candy can be crunchy, silly and even a bit wacky, but I think that's part of the attraction to the stuff.
I love to crunch on my favorite candy bar, for me it's a weekly treat that i just can't seem to live without.
We give our sweethearts candy and chocolate for Valentine's Day and special occasions. We pass out candy to trick-or-treaters on Halloween. We load baskets full of sweets and give them to our children on Easter.
Simply put, we are a society that is addicted to the sweet stuff, we simply just can't get enough candy. In the end, there is nothing sweeter than candy.
Candy is also big business, as annual sales are in the billions of dollars. In early 2018, Candy giant Nestle Brands announced that it would sell its USA candy brands to the Italian brand Ferrero. This will transfer iconic brands such as Crunch Bars, Butterfinger, SweeTarts, Nerds and FunDip over to their control. The price was not cheap however, as the sale cost Ferrero $2.8 billion, yes thats billion with a b. Wow!!! who knew candy was such a valuable commodity.
Candy is a universal language, it touches everyone, everywhere. One of
the most fun things about being a kid, is enjoying a tasty candy treat.
Holidays like Easter and Halloween are special days, that every child
looks forward too. Kids eyes light up when they see a big basket, full
of candy and chocolate.
Everyone has a favorite candy that evokes those grand memories of childhood. Even today as an adult, I still enjoy a candy snack once in awhile. Here are some of the most popular candy brands.
Atomic Fireballs - This is one little hard, red, round candy that packs a punch. If you crave a hot candy, you don't have a lot of choices, yet you can't go wrong with these original little heat bombs. Atomic Fireballs first hit the market in 1954, they are made by Ferrara Pan.
Boston Baked Beans - These aren't actually baked beans at all, yet they are made to look like them. They are actually little red, candy covered peanuts. Comes in a red box that is designed to look like bricks. Another one made by Ferrara Pan.
Blow Pops - Charms blow pops are a favorite for those that like suckers and bubblegum. That's because the center of a Charms blow pop is bubblegum. They are also available in lots of different fruity flavors.
Good & Plenty - This candy is different because it is purple and white and comes in a box of the same colors. It is basically black licorice with a sugary coating. I don't remember loving this as a kid, we used to trade it off most of the time. If you are a big fan of licorice then maybe it's for you.
Gummi Bears & Gummi Candy - It all started with a company called Haribo making the now famous Gummi Bears. The original Haribo Bears come in a bag that says Gold-Bears. Haribo also makes some other interesting Gummi Candies including, Haribo Alphabet Letters, Haribo Fizzy Cola, Haribo Fruit Salad, Haribo Tropifrutti, Harino Fruity-Frutti, Haribo Rattle-Snakes, Haribo Frogs, Haribo Clown Fish and others. Since Haribo launched the Gummi Bear there have been many other imitators that offer their own Gummi Candies.
Jolly Rancher Candy - Jolly Ranchers are hard fruity candy that has been around since the 1950's. This candy brand started out west, in Golden, Colorado. Today they offer chewy candy in addition to their hard candies. Jolly Rancher Fruit Chews and Gummi Jolly Ranchers are the chewy kind.
Jelly Belly Candy - Jelly Belly makes some of the greatest jelly beans on Earth. They come in 50 different flavors like cotton candy, blueberry, lemon drop, watermelon and many more. Jelly Belly recommends that you mix and match flavors, to build your own tasty flavor concoctions. Jelly Belly calls itself a "gourmet jelly bean" and they certainly deliver. Many celebrities have loved this candy over the years and even Presidents like Ronald Reagan kept a jar on his desk at the White House.
I have always loved these soft, chewy little mint candies. They
are a favorite in movie theatres everywhere. The great things is that
you can eat them slowly and enjoy them for a good long while. The brand
is now owned by Tootsie Roll Industries. They have to produce over 15
million of these little mints every day, to keep up with demand. Junior
Mints debuted way back in 1949.
M & M's Candy - Most children grew up with M & M's Candy. My grandparents used to give them to us kids every time we visited as a special treat. The product is still great and the talking M & M's in the commercials are really clever.
Milk Duds - A favorite of movie goers for years, these chocolate covered caramels are a tasty treat and bited-sized. The yellow box with the words "Milk Duds" in big, bold, brown letters is easily recognizable and remains a classic look even today.
Nerds - Talk about a sugar rush!! These little odd shaped pink and purple candies are brightly colored and super sweet. Almost too sweet if you ask me.
Raisinets - This has always been a personal favorite of mine. Raisins that are coated in chocolate, a popular treat at the movie theatre for many years.
Reese's Pieces - These brightly colored little round candies are made out of peanut butter and surrounded by a hard chocolate shell. Heck even ET the extraterrestrial liked these things.
Starburst - Comes as little individually wrapped squares that are fruity flavored. You buy it in a pack and each square has a different fruit flavor. A tangy, fruity and chewy candy. Packs come in these varieties: Original , FaveREDs , Tropical Flavor Morph and Sweet Fiesta.
Skittles - Skittles are small, sweet and colorful bite sized candies. They look a little bit like lop sided m & m's but taste fruity, not chocolaty. The brand is owned by Mars Inc. They are best known for their famous slogan "Taste The Rainbow".
Skittles are packaged in different flavor configurations. Such as regular Skittles, Tropical Skittles, Sour Skittles, Skittles Crazy Cores, Skittles Fizzl'd Fruits, Skittles Blenders and Wild Berry Skittles. A popular candy brand.
Sweethearts - You probably got these little candy hearts around Valentine's Day when you were a kid. These little candy hearts are an icon, they include cute little sayings printed on the hearts themselves. Sweethearts are made by the New England Confectionery Company also called Necco for short.
Tootsie Rolls & Tootsie Pops - Tootsie rolls are an iconic brand of candy that has been around since 1896. The Tootsie Roll is a type of chocolate candy that is somewhat chewy and will not melt easily. It comes in little log shaped rolls with cute wrapping and a signature twist on each end. Also popular is the Tootsie Pop which is a hard sucker, with a chewy Tootsie Roll Center.
Twizzlers - Twizzlers are a favorite for most of us who like licorice. Twizzlers took some fine tasting licorice and put a "twist on it", literally. Twizzlers is owned by the Hershey company and is one of their brands. Twizzlers comes in Twists, Filled Twists, Pull 'n' Peel, Bites and Nibs. Twizzlers makes so much twisted goodness each year, that if you lined all up all those twists, it would stretch to the moon and back 5 times. Twizzlers most popular flavor is strawberry. Which kind is your favorite? Slogan: The twist you can't resist.
